Alert MfB, CrediCorp partner to expand consumer credit
Alert Microfinance Bank has established a collaboration with Nigeria Consumer Credit Corporation to expand lending services throughout the country, combining institutional funding capacity with operational infrastructure, including branch networks and risk management systems. The partnership supports the AlertXpress Credit Card, a Verve-branded revolving facility powered by Interswitch that enables real-time credit decisions and repayment tracking across nationwide acceptance points.
The Lagos-based institution reported total assets reaching 26.60 billion naira with gross loan portfolios of 20.28 billion naira while maintaining portfolio risk indicators below five percent, according to statements from bank officials. Lending programs encompass business financing for micro enterprises, asset acquisition support, educational funding, water and sanitation projects, and renewable energy initiatives through partnerships with Green Bucks and Aqua for All.
The financial institution operates through 10 branches serving customers across Lagos while planning geographic expansion and enhanced digital platforms to strengthen consumer credit markets supporting economic development objectives.
