Animate Your MIDI With MidiShaper v1.6
Cableguys has released a significant update to their advanced MIDI control plugin, MidiShaper v1.6. The new version comes with a redesigned modern interface, the same powerful LFO drawing tools as their flagship ShaperBox plugin, and added compatibility with VST 3 and native Apple Silicon.
The slick new interface allows users to take control of MIDI modulation like never before. It features a modernized design with handy refinements such as AHDSR envelope visualization, easier LFO timing setup, and MIDI input LEDs. The interface is also resizable and Retina-ready.
Users can now animate any MIDI-controllable parameter with the same LFO drawing tools found in ShaperBox. They can draw shapes quickly using a flexible Pointer tool, paint with Pens, and get inspired by Wave Presets. LFOs can also be copy/pasted globally across all instances of MidiShaper and even between instances of ShaperBox and FilterShaper XL.
MidiShaper offers four modulation sources, each comprising an LFO and an AHDSR envelope. Users can use either as their modulation source or enable both for MIDI-triggered envelopes that control the strength of the LFO’s modulation, allowing them to fade patterns in and out.
The LFOs in MidiShaper can run in 1-shot or looping modes and can be synced to the song’s timeline, ranging from a buzzy 1/128 to an expansive 32 bars. They can also run freely from 0.02Hz up to 5.24kHz, be retriggered with MIDI, and even have their frequency set to match MIDI note pitch.
The plugin features a flexible routing matrix that allows each of the four Sources to modulate Pitch Bend, Mod Wheel, Channel Aftertouch, and up to 6 user-selected MIDI CCs.
In addition to the existing AU and VST versions, MidiShaper now comes in VST 3 format and has native Apple Silicon compatibility, improving its overall compatibility with various systems and DAWs.
