Blue Cat Audio Releases Fader Hub 1.1 Update
Blue Cat Audio has released Fader Hub 1.1, a free update to their mixing and recording console software with network connectivity. This update introduces several new features and improvements that enhance the functionality and usability of Fader Hub.
One of the key additions in version 1.1 is the ability to independently send each input to the local mix (“ME”) and/or others via the network (“OTHERS”). This flexibility allows for greater control over the routing of audio signals within the software.
Another significant enhancement is the introduction of a new Aux output bus, which enables the management of two separate audio outputs, including optional recording. Users can now select which strip is routed to each mix in the LLAN mixer, providing more versatility in audio routing and monitoring.
Fader Hub 1.1 also improves the integration with external controllers. Both the plug-in and the standalone application can now send Bank Select and Program Change MIDI messages whenever changes are made in the user interface. This ensures that external controllers remain in sync with the software, providing a seamless workflow.
The preset management has been enhanced, making it easier for users to locate the currently selected preset. Folders containing the active preset now display a check mark, providing visual feedback. Additionally, users can now cycle through presets within the current bank using the next/previous preset functionality, which can be optionally enabled.
The update also addresses compatibility and performance improvements. The standalone application can now receive and send MIDI even when no audio interface is selected, expanding its usability in various scenarios. Both the plug-ins and the application now support SysEx MIDI events, ensuring compatibility with a wider range of MIDI devices.
Performance optimizations have been made to the VST3 plug-in and VST3 host when receiving program change messages, resulting in smoother operation. The plug-in bypass state now follows the plug-in upon drag and drop, providing a more intuitive user experience.
Several bug fixes have been implemented in Fader Hub 1.1. These include resolving a crash in the params map editor upon GUI load in rare cases, fixing a plug-in slot bypass reset issue when removing a plug-in, and addressing a plug-in slots display issue on macOS 10.10.
