Cognitone Releases Synfire 2.5.3 with Enhanced Features
Cognitone has made some changes to Synfire, their music prototyping studio. They’ve improved it and fixed some problems. The new version is called 2.5.3.
One of the main things they’ve improved is a feature called Snippets. Users can now export a Snippets grid as audio loops or MIDI clips, which means they can use them in their digital audio workstation, or DAW for short.
They’ve also made it possible to export containers as audio files. Containers are like folders that hold different parts of a song. Users can also export the audio output as stems now. Stems are tracks that make up a song, like the drums, bass, or vocals.
The update improves Synfire’s performance with other things, too. It synchronizes better with external devices and works better with Drones in DAWs, which are long, sustained notes or chords.
Importing containers and sounds is also easier now. Some users had trouble scanning VST3 plugins before, but that’s fixed. VST3 is a format for virtual instruments and effects.
