Construction law experts gather in Seoul for global conference
Legal professionals from more than 30 nations gathered at COEX in southern Seoul this week for the International Society of Construction Law Conference. More than 310 experts attended sessions addressing contract disputes and infrastructure development through Friday.
Speakers examined how standard agreements adapt to complex global projects. Freshfields partner Kim Rosenberg stressed that documentation from project inception helps prevent disagreements. The Team chief executive, Im Jung-joo, said retrospective delay analysis provides reasonable assessment methods for legal proceedings.
Sessions explored artificial intelligence applications for future claims and alternative resolution mechanisms. Friday’s program addressed renewable energy legal frameworks and sustainable infrastructure. South Korea’s construction law society secured the hosting rights in Turkey two years ago after board members voted to bring the biennial event to Seoul.
