Georgia governor meets SK On CEO to strengthen ties
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp met with SK On chief executive Lee Seok-hee on Friday to strengthen battery manufacturing partnerships. The officials gathered at the Korean company’s headquarters in central Seoul to review joint ventures following discussions last June.
SK On operates a 22-gigawatt-hour facility in Commerce through its American subsidiary and builds a second plant with Hyundai Motor Group in Bartow County. Kemp met Hyundai Vice Chair Chang Jae-hoon on Thursday to address fallout from September immigration enforcement at a battery construction site.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee held separate meetings with LG Chem and LG Energy Solution representatives to expand regional cooperation. Ferrari chief executive Benedetto Vigna visited Seoul to negotiate battery supplies for the automaker’s debut electric vehicle launching next year.
