Nvidia bets $1B on Nokia for 6G race
Nvidia will partner with Nokia to develop sixth-generation wireless networks through artificial intelligence-powered radio access network products that combine Grace processors and Blackwell graphics chips. The collaboration received a $1 billion investment from Nvidia at $6.01 per share, announced at the GTC 2025 conference.
The companies plan to merge Nvidia’s CUDA computing platform with Nokia’s telecommunications infrastructure through a system called Aerial RAN Computer. Nokia will adapt its fifth and sixth-generation software to work with Nvidia’s technology and integrate the ARC-Pro system into its network equipment.
T-Mobile will conduct field trials of the AI-RAN systems starting in 2026. The partnership aims to enable wireless carriers to upgrade their networks while supporting edge computing applications for consumers and businesses.
