Remedy Games: Control 2 will be an ‘action rpg’
Remedy Games announced Tuesday that Control 2 would be an ‘action RPG.’ What precisely the developer means by this is not entirely clear. Control will also receive a free content update in early 2025.
Control 2 was briefly discussed during a presentation to investors. It is surprising that the game will be an action RPG since the previous game from 2019 is a third-person shooter. How much Control 2 will ultimately differ from the first Control is not yet known. Remedy announced the sequel in 2022 but has shared few details about the game since then. The developer announced in August that it would publish Control 2 itself.
Additionally, Remedy reports that a content update for Control is coming in early 2025. The update may include cosmetics exclusive to the PlayStation versions of the game. Furthermore, Control Ultimate Edition will be released for Mac on February 12. This version includes the base game, the expansions The Foundation and AWE, and all additional content released so far, including the photo mode.
