Allianz plants roots deep in Penang
Allianz Malaysia Bhd opened a new branch in Penang on Saturday, expanding its reach in the northern region. The branch is located in a heritage double-story bungalow on Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah in George Town, replacing its former site on China Street. The 9,000-square-foot space includes three training rooms, more service counters, and private consultation areas.
Chief executive officer Sean Wang said the move supports the company’s growth beyond central areas and improves access for customers in Penang, Bukit Mertajam, Alor Setar, and Sungai Petani. Allianz Malaysia now serves about one million people in the north. The new location offers improved parking, shorter wait times, and a design centered on the customer experience. Wang added that using a heritage building shows respect for Penang’s cultural history while providing a modern space for agents and clients. This branch is part of Allianz’s network of 30 One Allianz locations across Malaysia since 2002.
