Amuse names Giorgio D’Ambrosio as CEO
Stockholm-based music distributor Amuse has named Giorgio D’Ambrosio as its Chief Executive Officer while adding Dan Rowe from Firebird Music to its board. D’Ambrosio, who joined the board in 2020 and served as interim CEO for the past year, officially assumed the role in October. The company reports it has invested over 30 million dollars in artist partnerships through advances and marketing funds.
Amuse has expanded beyond its original distribution platform to become what it describes as a full-service alternative to traditional record labels. The company maintains more than 400 partnerships with independent artists worldwide and employs nearly 100 staff across offices in New York, London and Stockholm. Its Artist and Label Services division manages a catalog of 8,000 songs, with several tracks surpassing one billion streams.
Rowe brings experience from scaling music operations and founding One Riot Music. He praised the distribution and data technology that Amuse has developed, noting it combines DIY culture with modern independent record business capabilities.
