AXS and Lawson Entertainment launch AXS Tickets joint venture in Japan
AEG subsidiary AXS partnered with Japanese company Lawson Entertainment to create AXS Tickets through a joint venture. The collaboration merges AXS digital technology with Lawson’s retail presence across 15,000 convenience stores. AXS entered Japan in 2018 and has processed tens of millions of transactions since launch.
Lawson Entertainment operates ticket services at convenience locations and manages entertainment businesses such as HMV stores and cinema chains. The venture provides Lawson access to AXS systems for mobile ticketing and dynamic pricing. AXS serves over 1,600 global venues and major events like the Coachella festival.
The partnership follows AXS acquiring majority control of Singapore ticketing platform SISTIC earlier this month. Parent company AEG purchased complete ownership of AXS in 2019 after initially founding the platform in 2011. American Express deepened its collaboration with AEG and AXS through an expanded August agreement.
