Battlefield 6 slammed for tiny maps, fans fume
A community analysis has confirmed that Battlefield 6 features notably compact battlegrounds compared to earlier franchise entries. Reddit member ClaraTheRed compiled data examining all 87 maps across the series, measuring their total dimensions, usable combat zones, and relative rankings.
The results paint an unfavorable picture for the latest installment. Operation Firestorm, a reimagined version from Battlefield 3 and the largest arena in Battlefield 6, places 32nd when measured by playable territory. The remake also shrinks considerably from its predecessor, which holds seventh place in usable space. Among original creations, Mirak Valley leads at 35th position, while Saints Quarter becomes the franchise’s second-smallest battlefield overall.
The data validates longtime player concerns about cramped environments, even without precise measurements. Although many top-ranked expansions arrived as downloadable content after initial releases, Battlefield 6 clearly falls short against launch offerings from previous titles. Developer response remains uncertain, though the studio has addressed other community feedback by recently removing controversial cosmetic items deemed inconsistent with the game’s aesthetic. Whether future map releases will incorporate player demands for more spacious combat areas has yet to be determined.
