Epidemic Sound debuts Studio AI for video soundtracks
Epidemic Sound has introduced Studio, an artificial intelligence product that automatically generates soundtracks by combining human-created music with sound effects and ambient audio for video content. The Stockholm music licensing company analyzes uploaded videos through technology informed by more than three billion daily plays across digital platforms to synchronize audio elements with visual material while maintaining legal compliance.
The platform addresses creator challenges in audio production, with the company noting that soundtracking brief videos can require as much as five hours of work. Studio represents the latest addition to services that allow modification of licensed tracks while preserving artist compensation and publishing rights through bonus payment structures.
The launch arrives as music companies navigate artificial intelligence integration, with one streaming service reporting that synthetic recordings account for nearly a third of daily uploads. Epidemic Sound acquired Song Sleuth earlier in the year to strengthen capabilities in tracking and monetizing music across user-generated digital content.
