Ericsson, ITIDA sign MoU to boost Egypt’s ICT sector growth
Ericsson and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency have formalized a three-year partnership to advance Egypt’s information and communications technology sector through workforce development and digital infrastructure expansion. The agreement was signed during the Global Offshoring Summit 2025, attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and forms part of 55 corporate commitments supporting the Digital Egypt Strategy for the Offshoring Industry through 2026. Kevin Murphy, president of Ericsson North Middle East, stated the collaboration builds on existing ties to create talent opportunities within the domestic technology industry.
The framework establishes joint initiatives spanning engineering services, research and development operations, business process management, and knowledge services while incorporating digital skills programs, employment recruitment events, and university partnerships. ITIDA chief executive Ahmed El-Zaher characterized the memorandum as evidence of multinational confidence in Egypt’s transition from service provider to strategic partner in high-value digital operations. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat noted the agreements capitalize on the nation’s skilled workforce and geographic positioning within global markets.
