Ethel Mupambwa tells young founders to build skills
MoneyMart Finance chief executive Ethel Mupambwa delivered $500 awards to three female entrepreneurs who presented business concepts at an Ideas Tank competition held during the In Conversation with Trevor Ideas Festival in Nyanga. Recipients Noreen Musa Mangena of Zela Enterprises, Isabel Mhlandhla of Flying Protein and Jennifer Makusha of Innofuz Venture will use the funds to expand operations and increase working capital.
Speaking at a luncheon for women entrepreneurs from the Old Mutual Eight2Five Innovation Hub in Harare, Mupambwa emphasized developing negotiation abilities and selecting supportive business partners as essential success factors. She recounted navigating challenging periods through payment plan negotiations during her career.
The Eight2Five Innovation Hub has assisted over 8,000 entrepreneurs while incubating 140 startups through strategic partnerships. Female participation increased from 15 percent to 40 percent within the current year.
