Hertz hires Piero Bussani as new CLO
Hertz appointed Piero Bussani as chief legal officer to replace Katherine Lee Martin, who departed in August after two years with the rental car company. Bussani arrives from residential builder Homebound, where he held the same position, and will oversee legal affairs, government relations, sustainability and social impact when he starts on Monday, Oct. 27.
The Florida-based corporation operates rental locations across 160 nations under brands that include Dollar, Thrifty and Firefly. Bussani worked more than three years at Homebound after serving as top lawyer at Revantage, Digital Bridge Holdings, Invitation Homes, LXR Luxury Resorts and Extended Stay Hotels.
Martin transferred to builder Lennar in August following her May 2024 promotion to general counsel. She succeeded Colleen Batcheler, who left for food processor Hormel Foods.
