Bangladesh, Pakistan discuss boosting trade ties
Pakistan’s petroleum minister met with Bangladesh trade officials on Monday to discuss expanding commercial ties between the nations. Ali Pervaiz Malik told Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin believes that both countries have significant opportunities for increased investment and commerce.
The officials agreed to strengthen the Bangladesh-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission after more than 15 years of limited activity. Bashir Uddin said the two nations share historical connections and should develop stronger economic partnerships. Pakistani High Commissioner Imran Haider and Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman attended the meeting at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Malik said Pakistan wants to advance bilateral relations through better trade cooperation. Both sides plan to reduce existing obstacles and improve business conditions between the countries.
