IT campus hiring up 25% in H1 FY26, Adecco report says
Technology companies increased their campus recruitment by 25 percent in the first half of fiscal 2026 compared to the same period last year. Engineering and artificial intelligence roles grew 27 percent while salaries rose 5 percent, according to Adecco Group data released Wednesday. Most new hires work in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and the capital region, with placements in smaller cities up 7 percent.
Firms shifted from traditional hiring models to training candidates before employment to match academic preparation with project needs. The industry faces shortages of 45 to 50 percent in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data roles. Companies favor specialized talent over large teams and prioritize delivery leaders with domain expertise. Lateral hiring focuses on specific technical skills rather than general positions as organizations align workforce planning with active projects.
