Justice Pratibha Singh chairs WIPO judges’ advisory board
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal congratulated Delhi High Court Justice Pratibha M. Singh after her selection to lead the World Intellectual Property Organization’s judicial advisory panel. Singh will chair the board from 2025 through 2027 and strengthen India’s position in global intellectual property forums. The minister said her appointment reflects the country’s rising influence in patent and copyright protection systems. Singh became a permanent judge at the Delhi High Court in 2017 and led its first intellectual property division from 2021 to 2022.
The judge began legal practice in 1991 and regularly appears before India’s Supreme Court, patent office and appellate tribunals. The World Intellectual Property Organization operates as a United Nations agency with 193 member governments and manages international systems for patents, trademarks and creative works. The agency was established in 1967 and maintains its headquarters in Geneva. Singh’s selection marks recognition of Indian expertise in balancing innovation rights with economic development goals.
