The folks at Newfangled Audio have put out a wild new audio plugin called Obliterate. It’s free to use on Mac and Windows computers. This isn’t your normal audio tool – it actually makes things sound worse on purpose!

The makers say it all started with a mistake in their filter code. Instead of fixing it, they let the bug grow into something strange and powerful. After seven years, it turned into a crazy new kind of sound distortion that can make everything sound super angry and intense.

The plugin can mess up drums, make bass sounds go nuts, and create spooky horror effects. It has two settings – ON and MORE ON – plus some special filters you can play with. Users can drag things around on screen to change how the sound gets warped.

The funny thing is, Newfangled Audio never meant to make this. They were trying to make a normal audio filter when they found this cool-sounding mistake. They liked it so much, they turned it into a free tool for everyone to play with.
