Phil Spencer says Forza Motorsport is resting
Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer addressed concerns about the Forza Motorsport franchise at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, following Turn 10 Studios’ loss of more than 70 employees earlier this year. Speaking with Famitsu, Spencer said the studio needs rest but remains active. He explained that the company shifts resources to support games with nearer release dates and maintains flexibility across its portfolio of more than 20 studios.
The latest Forza Motorsport launched in 2023 after six years of development, but failed to meet fan expectations. Previous entries arrived every two years from 2005 to 2017. The franchise faces additional pressure as Forza Horizon grows more popular and prepares for a 2026 release set in Japan.
