PM Modi to launch Rs 1 lakh crore RDI Fund at ESTIC 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will introduce a 1 lakh crore rupee fund for research and development innovation during a science conference beginning on Monday in New Delhi. The initiative seeks to encourage private companies to invest more heavily in scientific research across India.
Modi will speak at the opening of the Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, where more than 3,000 attendees from universities, laboratories, businesses, and government agencies will gather through Nov. 5. Nobel Prize winners, prominent researchers and policy experts will participate in discussions covering 11 fields such as quantum computing, semiconductor production, climate science and space exploration.
The event will feature scientific presentations, group forums and displays of new technologies designed to strengthen partnerships between academic institutions and commercial enterprises. Union Minister Jitendra Singh described the gathering as an opportunity for startup founders and early-career scientists to present their work, secure guidance and establish connections with potential investors and collaborators. Organizers structured the conference to produce tangible results while recognizing achievements in Indian science and technology development.
