Pride Bank unveils Pride Care health insurance
Pride Bank Uganda partnered with Jubilee Health and Padre Pio Insurance Brokers to introduce Pride Care, an insurance product that connects health coverage to savings accounts. Customers who keep at least 100,000 shillings in their accounts receive automatic access to medical insurance. The bank designed the program after hearing customers describe how hospital bills depleted their savings and disrupted small businesses when employees fell ill.
Joseph Feeta, business head at Pride Bank, said medical emergencies force people to borrow money at high rates and lose months of accumulated savings. He told traders the product helps protect workers and maintain business operations when health problems arise. Managing Director Veronicah Gladys Namirembe said the insurance represents the bank’s commitment to customer-focused solutions beyond traditional banking services.
The bank has worked toward financial access for three decades by helping people save and obtain loans. Pride Care builds on this history by removing application barriers and additional payments that typically complicate insurance enrollment. Benefits activate automatically when account holders maintain responsible banking habits.
