PTAD pays N3.9 billion arrears to 91,146 pensioners
Nigeria’s Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate distributed 3.9 billion naira in overdue payments to more than 91,000 retirees enrolled in the defined benefit program as part of a 32,000 naira pension enhancement authorized by President Bola Tinubu. Executive Secretary Tolulope Odunaiya confirmed the federal administration remains committed to clearing accumulated obligations while strengthening retirement security initiatives under current policy frameworks.
Payment allocations delivered 1.9 billion naira to 59,865 recipients through the parastatals pension department, with an additional 830 million naira reaching 12,976 civil service beneficiaries. Police department retirees numbering 9,689 received 620 million naira, while 8,616 customs, immigration, and prisons pensioners collected 551 million naira through their respective channels.
