Royal Enfield sales soar 13% but exports dip 7%
Royal Enfield sold 124,951 motorcycles during October, marking a 13 percent increase from the 110,574 units moved in the same month one year earlier. The manufacturer attributed the surge to holiday shopping patterns and better conditions across its markets. Sales within India jumped 15 percent to reach 116,844 bikes, up from 101,886 during October 2024. International shipments fell 7 percent to 8,107 units compared with 8,688 the previous year.
B Govindarajan, who leads Eicher Motors as managing director and serves as Royal Enfield’s chief executive, said festive energy drove purchases nationwide. The brand moved more than 249,000 motorcycles between September and October, setting a company record for holiday season performance. Popular products like the Classic 350, Bullet, Hunter 350, and Himalayan helped strengthen the company’s standing in mid-sized motorcycle categories.
India’s broader two-wheeler sector has rebounded recently, with major producers like TVS Motor Company and Suzuki Motorcycle India posting October gains between 8 and 11 percent. Tax policy changes and seasonal buying pushed the industry forward, while economic improvement and rural market sentiment provided additional momentum heading into Diwali celebrations.
