Seshasayee Paper sees 21% drop in Q2 profit
Seshasayee Paper and Boards Ltd saw its profit drop 21.3 percent in the second quarter of fiscal 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier. The manufacturer posted a net profit of 22.4 crore rupees, down from 28.5 crore rupees, according to a regulatory filing released on Saturday.
Revenue fell 13.1 percent to 346.3 crore rupees from 398.5 crore rupees. EBITDA decreased 14.4 percent to 26.3 crore rupees from 30.7 crore rupees, with the margin slipping slightly to 7.6 percent from 7.7 percent.
The company invested 26 crore rupees in a special purpose vehicle to acquire a 26.1 percent equity stake. Shares closed at 256.0 rupees on Friday, up 0.20 percent, though the stock has fallen 18 percent this year.
Seshasayee Paper and Boards operates integrated mills in the Erode and Tirunelveli districts of Tamil Nadu. The company was established in June 1960 with the collaboration of Parsons and Whittemore of the United States.
