Shradha Sharma slammed by Taj Hotel over padmasana pose
YourStory chief executive Shradha Sharma criticized Taj Hotel staff after they reprimanded her for sitting position at the House of Ming restaurant. Management confronted her for sitting cross-legged and questioned her traditional salwar kameez outfit and Kolhapuri sandals when she dined with her sister on Diwali. The manager told her wealthy patrons frequent the establishment and suggested she wear closed shoes while sitting conventionally.
Sharma said she earned her money through hard work and paid for the meal herself. She expressed disappointment with the hotel group despite her respect for the late Ratan Tata, who invested in her company. Social media users largely supported her complaint against what they called cultural discrimination, though some defended restaurant etiquette standards. The hotel has not responded to the accusations.
