South Korea APEC summit spotlights tech giants
South Korea plans to demonstrate its technological strength through multiple business gatherings next week as the nation prepares for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. The events will highlight advances in artificial intelligence and digital transformation under the banner of Korean firms expanding their global reach. More than 1,700 business leaders and executives from member nations will attend the APEC CEO Summit in Gyeongju from Tuesday through Friday, with technology chiefs from Nvidia, Amazon Web Services and Google among the participants.
Major corporations will present forums on shipbuilding, defense, artificial intelligence and energy from Monday through Thursday. The K-Tech Showcase runs from Tuesday through Friday to display Korean innovations in robotics, mobility and screen technology. Seoul will host additional gatherings such as the Invest Korea Summit and a global technology conference. This marks the second time the country has organized the leaders’ meeting, having first done so in 2005.
