OpenAI tests group chats in Asia-Pacific
OpenAI has initiated a pilot program for a new group chat feature in ChatGPT across four Asia-Pacific markets: Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan. The company stated this feature enables up to twenty users to collaborate with the AI assistant in real-time conversations. The artificial intelligence is designed to participate by responding when directly addressed or when context suggests its input is needed, without counting human-to-human messages against usage limits.
This development represents a strategic move toward positioning ChatGPT as a collaborative platform. The pilot program is intended to explore how teams integrate artificial intelligence into their shared workflows. OpenAI emphasized that user privacy and separate memory functions between individual and group chats are maintained.
