Warner Music, Merwas launch Riyadh label for MENA artists
Warner Music established a record label in Riyadh through an agreement with the Saudi multimedia company Merwas. The partnership will sign and develop regional talent for audiences across the Middle East, North Africa, and global markets. Merwas operates what it describes as the world’s largest recording facility that opened in 2022.
The venture extends Warner’s regional presence following investments in HuManagement talent agency and Rotana Music label. The company acquired distributor Qanawat Music in 2022 to strengthen operations across Middle Eastern and North African territories. Streaming generates 99.5 percent of music revenue in the area.
MENA recorded music sales increased 22.8 percent last year to lead global growth rates. Ahmed Nureni leads Warner Music operations for the region and cited next-generation studio capabilities. Rumayyan Alrumayan manages Merwas and referenced 500 million Arabic speakers accessing digital music platforms. The facility earned recognition as an entertainment production center shortly after launching operations.
