67 million hit pumps daily as India’s oil thirst surges
India’s petroleum minister said 67 million people visit fuel stations daily as energy consumption reaches 5.5 million barrels of oil per day. The gas pipeline network will expand from 24,500 kilometers to 33,000 kilometers by 2030.
More than 106 million households received liquefied petroleum gas connections through the Ujjwala program, while 15.5 million homes use piped natural gas. The nation operates 8,300 compressed natural gas stations and 114 compressed biogas plants.
