Airbus chief bullish on India partnership
Airbus Board Chairman Rene Obermann told attendees at the Berlin Global Dialogue that India represents a strategic partner for the aerospace company. He praised the country’s engineering capabilities after spending a week there recently. Obermann said discussions with Indian counterparts focused on improving quality rather than just reducing costs. The executive expressed strong confidence in India’s entrepreneurial climate and technical workforce.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal participated in the panel discussion about trade relationships in a changing global economy. He stressed that India approaches partnerships with an eye toward long-term mutual benefits. The minister highlighted expanding opportunities for international businesses in India. Goyal emphasized that successful trade agreements depend on trust between nations.
On Friday, Goyal met with Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel to discuss economic ties. The leaders explored ways to expand trade and business connections between their countries. Goyal also held separate meetings with executives from major German corporations. Those conversations centered on potential cooperation in defense, energy, new technologies and transportation sectors.
