AMD Radeon AI Pro R9700 launches October 27
AMD will release the Radeon AI Pro R9700 workstation graphics card on Oct. 27, priced from $1,299. The company announced the launch date and confirmed pricing that matches earlier speculation about the RDNA 4-based processor. Board partners will handle all sales since AMD will not offer a reference model directly to consumers.
The R9700 uses the same NAVI 48 chip as the gaming-focused RX 9070 XT but doubles video memory to 32 gigabytes. The card targets artificial intelligence tasks and runs large language models on desktop workstations via AMD ROCm software. The processor delivers twice the performance of the W7800 model for DeepSeek R1 operations and supports multiple graphics card configurations.
The dual-slot design uses a blower-style cooling system for compact installations. AMD markets the R9700 as the most affordable 32 GB workstation option. Several manufacturers will sell the card through retailers or system builders starting next week.
