ASUS reveals fastest OLED monitor with 720Hz display
Asus will release a gaming monitor on Nov. 1 that switches between 540 hertz at 1440p and 720 hertz at 720p, using LG Display’s fourth-generation tandem OLED technology. The ROG Super Kill 27 Pro carries a model designation of PG27AQWP-W outside China and costs 8,499 yuan, equivalent to $1,193.
The 27-inch display uses four layers of red, green, and blue organic light-emitting diodes rather than three layers found in earlier panels. LG showed the same panel technology at 720 hertz in a separate UltraGear model that runs at 280 hertz when set to 1440p.
The monitor achieves a 0.02-millisecond response time and meets True Black HDR 500 standards for contrast performance. Asus China General Manager Tony presented specifications showing DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 connectivity with multiple USB ports for peripheral devices.
