Brown & Brown names Steve Hearn retail head
Brown & Brown named Steve Hearn as president of its Retail segment, while he continues in his role as chief operating officer. Barrett Brown, the former president, took a personal leave. Powell Brown, the company’s chief executive, said Hearn brings 35 years of industry knowledge and will drive United States and international expansion. The appointment aims to support business stability as the firm pursues additional growth.
Hearn already leads operations outside North America for retail and specialty distribution units. He will manage global operations alongside his new assignment and help expand the Retail platform with senior leaders. Hearn splits time between Britain, Europe, and America. He works from London but plans to move to Daytona Beach once visa clearance arrives.
Brown & Brown made several Retail appointments this year, naming Mark Manzi as the North American retail brokerage leader following its acquisition of Risk Strategies. Second quarter revenue hit 1.3 billion dollars, up 9.1 percent from last year. Organic revenue climbed 3.6 percent.
