CMA, USE launch World Investor Week 2025
Uganda’s Capital Markets Authority and the Securities Exchange started World Investor Week 2025 on Monday with ceremonies in Kampala. The campaign runs through Friday and encourages citizens to shift from traditional savings methods to technology-based investment platforms.
Authority Chief Executive Josephine Okui Ossiya told attendees that regulators are testing financial products through a supervised sandbox program. She warned participants to avoid unlicensed investment schemes and verify platform credentials before committing funds.
Securities Exchange head Paul Bwiso said mobile technology allows Ugandans to open trading accounts and manage portfolios remotely. The USE Easy Portal connects users nationwide to stock market transactions through their phones.
Organizers scheduled radio programs, social media discussions, and downtown roadshows for the week. The International Organization of Securities Commissions coordinates the annual financial literacy initiative across member countries.
