Diddy appeals prostitution conviction, seeks to overturn 50-month sentence
Sean Combs will challenge his prostitution conviction through the federal appeals process. His lawyers submitted formal paperwork Monday following his sentencing to 50 months in prison. The music producer received two guilty verdicts for transporting individuals for prostitution purposes but avoided sex trafficking charges.
Judge Arun Subramanian emphasized that the sentence aimed to demonstrate accountability for abuse against women. Combs must pay a fine of $500,000 and complete five years of probation after release. His supervised release terms require drug testing and participation in mental health and domestic violence programs.
President Trump declined to indicate support for clemency despite their past friendship. The White House denied media reports suggesting the administration was reviewing a potential sentence reduction. Combs had opposed Trump’s political campaigns after their earlier social connection ended.
