Ex-Fall Guys devs form Panic Stations studio
Panic Stations, a new game studio founded by former Mediatonic developers behind Fall Guys, has officially unveiled itself with a whimsical video featuring cartoon pigeons. In the clip, game designer Joe Walsh voices the first pigeon, declaring, “Games should be funnier and they should be stupider. Here at Panic Stations, we’re going to fix that.”
The team is now developing its first title, which its website clarifies is “not about pigeons.” Co-founder Paul Croft told GamesIndustry.Biz the studio aims to create online cooperative experiences that spark immediate joy and strengthen social connections. He noted the growing popularity of the co-op genre, citing recent hits like Peak, R.E.P.O., and Lethal Company as evidence of strong player interest in shared, lighthearted gameplay.
Given the team’s background on the surprise 2020 hit Fall Guys, expectations are high for their debut project. While details remain scarce, their focus on humor, accessibility, and multiplayer camaraderie suggests they are building on the formula that made their previous work stand out.
