FCCPC refocuses on strengthening institutional capacity
Nigeria’s consumer protection agency will strengthen internal operations and staff development after a management assessment in Abuja. Executive Vice Chairman Tunji Bello told officials at a retreat on Monday that sustained influence requires continuous investment in personnel training, equipment upgrades, and organizational alignment. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has gained domestic and international recognition since its 2018 establishment, but must maintain discipline and communication standards to fulfill its regulatory mandate.
Bello welcomed two executive commissioners appointed to oversee corporate services and operations, who will complete government induction programs at the Administrative Staff College. The gathering examined departmental coordination and priorities within the framework of President Bola Tinubu’s policy. Leadership pledged that retreat findings will guide reforms across the commission’s enforcement and advocacy functions.
