FG pushes Nigeria First policy
Nigeria’s government is encouraging domestic businesses to capitalize on the Nigeria First Policy as the administration works to expand local manufacturing and decrease import dependence. Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, delivered the message during a meeting with Solomon Ewanehi, the Managing Director of Solewant Group, in Abuja.
Akume praised Solewant Group for investing in steel pipe production, metal fabrication and coating technologies for the oil and gas sector. The company has positioned itself to benefit from opportunities arising as international oil companies exit Nigerian operations.
Ewanehi announced that his organization supports government efforts to increase crude oil production and will host the 9th Africa Energy Summit in Port Harcourt, bringing together industry leaders to discuss productivity improvements and continental energy competitiveness.
