Midwestern names Elozino Olaniyan first female CEO
Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited has selected Elozino Olaniyan as chief executive, making her the first woman to lead the indigenous exploration and production firm. The petroleum engineer brings over three decades of upstream sector experience, most recently serving as general manager for safety and environmental affairs at Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited.
Board chairman Emeka Okwuosa characterized the selection as a transformative development for the organization, expressing confidence in her capacity to advance operational standards and environmental stewardship. The leadership change accompanies broader governance restructuring that includes reconstituted board membership with additional independent directors and expanded executive capabilities.
Olaniyan indicated her administration will emphasize operational discipline and accountability while pursuing sustainable expansion. The company, established in 1999, maintains upstream holdings and midstream gas facilities across the Niger Delta operations.
