Ghana cedi fluctuates against major currencies
Ghana’s currency traded at 10.62 cedis per dollar for purchases and 11.35 cedis per dollar for sales on Saturday, October 25, according to data from Cedirates.com. Exchange bureaus sold dollars at 12.50 cedis and bought them at 12.00 cedis.
The Bank of Ghana interbank market listed the cedi at 10.84 for buying and 10.86 for selling against the dollar. The British pound cost 15.03 cedis at exchange bureaus and 14.43 cedis at the central bank.
Money transfer companies LemFi and Taptap Send offered dollar rates of 10.85 and 10.76 cedis for transactions from the US or the UK to Ghana. The euro traded at 13.18 cedis for sales and 12.24 cedis for purchases at exchange bureaus.
Digital payment services charged 11.66 cedis per dollar for subscription fees paid through Visa and Mastercard. The euro’s interbank rate reached 12.62 cedis.
