Huawei urges hotels to embrace digital solutions
Hotel operators across Nigeria received guidance on Friday to adopt artificial intelligence and cloud-based systems that can increase profits while improving guest services. Technology experts at the Huawei Smart Hotel Solutions Conference in Lagos demonstrated how digital tools streamline operations and reduce energy costs for properties of any size.
Vito Zhao from Huawei’s commercial division said that high-speed wireless networks and centralized management platforms are now essential rather than optional for competitive hotels. The company presented Wi-Fi 7 technology that supports bandwidth-heavy applications, which guests expect when booking rooms through mobile devices.
Olugbenga Sunday from Hotel Managers Conference Africa told attendees that modern travelers demand seamless connectivity and personalized experiences beyond basic accommodations. Smart room features use motion sensors to automatically adjust lighting and climate controls, while anti-surveillance technology protects visitor privacy.
Huawei launched integrated security camera systems and fiber optic solutions designed for hospitality properties. Representatives said the equipment helps managers monitor facilities efficiently while delivering reliable internet access that builds customer loyalty and repeat bookings.
