Nigeria Energy Conference to tackle power sector challenges
Nigeria’s power sector leaders will gather in Lagos on Monday for a three-day conference aimed at solving energy supply problems through private investment and technology upgrades. The 12th Nigeria Energy Exhibition and Conference at Landmark Centre expects 8,500 professionals to discuss financing methods and regulatory changes needed to strengthen electricity networks.
Organizers from Informa Markets said sessions will address infrastructure deficiencies and slow policy implementation that limit reliable power delivery across the country. Ade Yesufu from the company said the event creates opportunities for government officials and private developers to form partnerships to modernize power plants and distribution systems.
Presidential adviser Sadiq Wanka and Lagos energy commissioner Biodun Ogunleye will lead discussions on renewable energy projects and grid improvements. Topics include hydrogen fuel development, solar power expansion, and digital monitoring systems that reduce transmission losses.
The Federal Ministry of Power endorsed the conference that runs through Wednesday. Participants will examine how the Electricity Act affects market competition and explore funding structures for power plant construction across West Africa’s largest economy.
