IICF CEO Bill Ross to step down after 21 years
Bill Ross will leave his position as leader of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation after guiding the group for 21 years. The organization gave more than 53 million dollars to programs helping children and families lacking food or shelter under his direction. A board committee will search for his replacement while Wendy Houser from Markel manages daily operations.
The foundation added a Canadian branch to its network of six divisions that connect more than 250 insurance carriers with local service projects. A review team will examine how well current programs match what companies and neighborhoods need going forward. The group started in 1994 and mobilized 130,000 professionals who logged over 370,000 volunteer hours since then.
