India’s AI push targets farmers, SMEs via new playbooks
India builds artificial intelligence systems that serve citizens at the community level, according to Principal Scientific Adviser Ajay Kumar Sood. The World Economic Forum Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution released three documents on Wednesday outlining implementation strategies for agriculture, small enterprises, and regulatory frameworks. The guides emerged from field research and consultation with farmers, government officials, businesses, universities and technology firms.
The publications establish cooperative frameworks that assign responsibilities across public agencies, private companies and local operators. MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan said the material demonstrates methods for integrating machine learning tools into economic sectors to boost efficiency and prosperity. The AI for India 2030 program operates under guidance from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, with support from an advisory council of multiple organizations.
