India’s passenger vehicle sales hit all-time high in October 2025
Indian automobile manufacturers recorded their strongest monthly performance in October 2025, selling 470,227 passenger vehicles across the domestic market. The figure represents a 17.23 percent increase compared with the same period in 2024, when 401,105 units reached buyers. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman credited goods and services tax adjustments and holiday shopping patterns for driving the surge past the previous benchmark of 405,522 vehicles established during January 2025.
Multiple automakers achieved individual sales records during the month. Kia India moved 29,556 units, its best result since beginning operations in the country. Skoda Auto India delivered 8,252 vehicles, while Nissan Motor India reported 9,675 sales, representing 45 percent monthly growth. Mahindra transported 2,034 commercial trucks and buses.
Industry observers pointed to reduced tax rates and seasonal promotions as key factors encouraging purchases. The sales data suggests strengthening consumer confidence in economic conditions. Vehicle makers benefited from festive buying behavior following recent government policy changes affecting taxation structures.
