Intel ties Xe3P graphics to Nova Lake CPU family
Intel has started adding support for its Xe3P graphics architecture to Linux systems through new kernel patches expected in version 6.19. The patches confirm that Xe3P will power Nova Lake processors, the company’s desktop and mobile CPU line scheduled to follow Arrow Lake next year. Mesa 26.0 has also received initial Xe3P support, with updates covering multiple Nova Lake variants, including S, U, H, HX, and UL models.
The current patches provide foundational PCI Device IDs but do not yet enable full functionality. Both the kernel and Mesa drivers require a manual force-probe variable to enable Xe3P support, indicating that the code remains experimental. Ray tracing capability will vary across Nova Lake processors, with only U and H versions equipped for the feature, while S, HX, and UL models lack the necessary hardware.
