Melanie C partners with Virgin Music Group for Sweat album
Former Spice Girl Melanie C partnered with Virgin Music Group through her independent Red Girl Records label. The British pop artist released Sweat as the first single from her ninth studio album, scheduled for 2026. Virgin previously worked with the Spice Girls and distributed her initial solo recordings.
The track incorporates elements from Diana Ross and was produced between Swedish and American studios. Virgin Music Group UK President Vanessa Bosåen welcomed the artist to the company roster. Melanie C holds the distinction as the sole female artist to reach top chart positions as a solo performer and member of various group configurations.
The singer performs as a DJ alongside traditional live appearances that merge club and pop styles. She will headline at London’s O2 Academy Brixton venue on October 23, 2026. The agreement represents artist-driven partnerships that Virgin Music Group supports across international markets.
