Kavango strikes gold at Nightshift, Filabusi
Kavango Resources confirmed a gold deposit at its Nightshift Prospect within the Hillside Gold Project in Filabusi. The discovery supports national production targets of 40 tonnes this year for the single largest export commodity. A mineral resource estimate shows 19,000 ounces at 0.86 grams per tonne at the site located 800 meters from the Bill’s Luck Gold Mine.
The company plans to build a 300 tonne-per-day processing plant at Bill’s Luck, up from the original 200 tonne-per-day capacity. Chief executive Ben Turney said the resource proves the gold development strategy works. The estimate follows Joint Ore Reserves Committee standards and exceeds earlier expectations. Kavango trades on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange and focuses on near-surface production targets.
